Become a Compassion Advocate Volunteer
Are you already a sponsor of a Compassion child, but you would like to do more for this ministry that you love? Then become an advocate volunteer. Read through these brief descriptions to learn what an advocate for children living in poverty is all about. The bottom line is that through the ministry of Compassion International, you can help to save the lives of thousands of children, one child at a time and in Jesus name!
Responsibilities and Benefits of Being a Compassion Child Advocate
As a Compassion Child Advocate, you play a vital role in changing children’s lives for the kingdom of God. But being an advocate requires time and commitment. Compassion offers two levels of commitment — Level I and Level II.
Level I Commitment Responsibilities include:
- Participation in at least two Compassion self-initiated sponsorship-generating activities each year
- Volunteering at Compassion marketing events, such as concerts and festivals, when possible
- Participation in one training activity each year
Level I Commitment Benefits include:
- Discounted rates at Compassion’s Advocates Conferences and on Advocates Exposure Trips to Compassion’s field countries
- Web and video-based training on how to present Compassion’s ministry to the public
- Our quarterly newsletter, a Compassion shirt, and access to all of Compassion’s free marketing resources
Level II Commitment Responsibilities include:
- Participation in at least six Compassion self-initiated sponsorship-generating activities each year
- Seeking to develop at least one church relationship during your tenure as an advocate
- Participation in two training activities each year
- Maintaining regular communication with your appointed experienced team leaders
Level II Commitment Benefits include:
- Marked discounted rates at Compassion’s Advocates Conferences and on Advocates Exposure Trips
- Being part of a local team of advocates where ongoing, personal support and guidance is provided to your ministry
- In-depth training and skill development on presenting Compassion’s sponsorship program to the public
- In-depth training and skill development on presenting Compassion’s expanded programs, such as the Child Survival Program, to churches
- Our quarterly newsletter, a Compassion shirt, and the complete Advocates Resource Kit
