He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him (*Jesus Christ). Isaiah 53:2-3
That should give us pause.
When the Word exhorts us to be Christ-like, let us remember that it means we are to serve regardless of our short-comings; real or perceived. There is no account in the Bible of any servant not having at least one obvious limitation or weakness. In reality it seems that inadequacy is a prerequisite for serving the Lord. It surely is!
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God. 1 Corinthians 4:5

Hi Dave…
I just “applied” for your myspace you have listed on here – look for irish lullabye. That’s me.
What is your e-mail address & I’ll add it to my WordPress blog… or, e-mail it to me. I’m pretty sure you’ll like it although I just started it. My website is up & will be public before long. Once we get in touch, I’ll send you that info. I’m working on a CI page on both & will have them up soon. I just started putting my writing up – so used to the old fashion pen & paper way… 🙂

What country is/are your sponsored kid/s from? I think I remember seeing something about you going over on one of the sponsor/advocate trips. That would be such a blessing for the people & your kid as well as yourself!!!
I doubt I’ll be able to go visit any of the countries I have kids in because my health isn’t what’s needed to get the innoculations & to do that kind of travel. I really wish I could. I’ve traveled all over the US, Canada, & Europe.
Maybe I can find someone who is going to one of the countries one of my kids is in & they could take something to them for me? That would be the next best thing.
How long have you been connected to Compassion?
Looking forward to hearing about some of your CI adventures!

We sponsor in the DR, Thailand, Columbia, and Indonesia right now. I have been to the DR to visit one sponsor child and my wife went to Bolivia to sponsor her sponsored child (who is not in the program anymore).
I am NOT offering any advice, but when I went to the DR I did not get any shots and I was fine.
I have been with Compassion as a volunteer for about 8 years and have been a sponsor for about 10

I have some kids in Thailand, Columbia, & Indonesia, too. Some in Bengali, & Bolivia, too.
I found one girl who is in Peru who was born on my grandmother’s birthday the year she passed away. What a wonderful lady my grandmother was/is!! People she didn’t even know would come up to her to say hi because the love of the Lord glowed so stronly & brightly on her face & in her eyes. What a wonderful witness…
I knew that it would be something she would love – to have a child, brought in to this world when she moved to her forever home. Unless they read it here, my parents don’t know yet… Mother’s Day present. Polly was my mom’s mom &, truly, the blessings are passed on to the coming generations!
Welcome to my blog… glad to have you!!

Dave,
I ended up here after being at the sponsors page at CI. Watching the videos & crying & rejoicing at the same time. E-mail me & I’ll let you into my WP blog listed in my website.
I will pray for sagar as he is focusing on the wrong words – yours & not God’s – the black ones & not the red ones.
Too often the pictures of Jesus are beautiful, blond & white. Just read a book where a child saw up in heaven a “black” angel right before he died. It was his great-great-grandfather in the crowd of witnesses praying for him & his family. He found that out when he got to heaven.
I believe that people take too quick offense at the concept of ugly or beautiful because of what we, as sinful fallen humans have done to reject or accept those as we see them w/ our eyes. The stickler is that God sees the heart & he made ALL of us. No, none of us are ugly if looking through Christ’s eyes. And, no, being beautiful doesn’t mean a thing. I believe that sagar is not meaning harm towards you but venting the harm done from a fallen world when it comes to irrevelant concepts of looks.
You handled the situation well. Words are just words but what they mean can be very ugly & hurtful. I am a writer & carry a burden of the ability to express myself. I say a burden – a good one & a very responsible one – because I must read my own work from the reader’s heart as best possible & be responsible for how I word my thoughts. However, I serve only an Audience of One. He has the final say on what I write.
To you, Dave, blessings. To you, sagar, if you still visit this blog, blessings to you, too. Understand that wording is a personal choice except for the True Word – the Bible. To it we must defer.
Blessings,

I have 11 kids I”m sponsoring now. As well as sponsoring a LDP student. This is not meant to brag – I’m the one who is blessed. Watching the videos on CI really hit me yesterday. I was never able to have kids – now I do…. What a blessing our Lord gives us through them!

Hello sagar!
My suggestion would be to read more than just the title of the blog.
There is a certain irony in what your wrote, because I happen to agree with you when you say, “There is no such thing as ugly. All that God creates is beautiful.” I agree that is, until you start hurling ‘ugly’ insults.
You need not agree with what I write, and honestly, I welcome correction from any Christian and at any time, but you (sir/madame) use ugly words.
I may be in error, but I am not idiotic, insane, or stupid. I would ask that the Lord not record your sin, but rather bless you in some significant way today.

What an idiotic post. Are you ugly? How can a Christian utter those words. There is no such thing as ugly. All that God creates is beautiful. So what if you are bald or whatever, the decieved man thinks of things as beautiful vs ugly. Get real. Get Jesus.
Do not try to tell people it is ok if you are ugly because Paul or Christ were too…… thats insane and stupid.
Tell them you are not ugly. We are all beautiful. And moreover, physical appearence deserves neither the time nor the merit of anyone’s examination.
WAKE UP!!!
